I was raised in Roosevelt, New York. I moved to New York City to began my professional career in acting while attending City University of New York, Borough of Manhattan Community College. I trained with New York's notable Actors/Teachers, JoAnne Beckson at NYU Tish; John Korkes, Alice Saltzman at Stella Adler and Peter Minor, Terry Schreiber at T. Schreiber Studios. During this time I also coordinated films for the City, meeting with many production's location departments, I gained great insight to the Industry. I have learned to really appreciate the qualities everyone brings to the table in the process of filming. Juggling dual-careers, Actor and Asst. Film Coordinator at Department of Citywide Administrative Services, Liaison to the Mayor's Office of Film...(2012 -2015.) I coordinated many American drama TV film series and feature films such as Law & Order SVU, Power, Blue Elementary, Black List, Unforgettable, The Americans, Gotham, Spider man, Antonio, John Wick, etc... In March 2015, I was promoted to the Administrative Assistant, to Commissioner, Loree K. Sutton, at The Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs. Thankful for my experience and the acquaintances I made along the way at the Mayor's Office, I later resigned from city government entirety to pursue my passion full time in acting and entertainment. Since, I have been enjoying the process of honing my craft and making films with my peers; filming Independent features, television film series... and performing on stage in off Broadway theaters. I have learned so much on my journey down this road of life. I am more equipped for what is next, knowing purpose; paying attention to life obstacles while listening for the divine prompts of the season's changing. I am encouraged to seek my highest potential as an actor simultaneously, as a person with passion, reverence & perseverance. http://www.imdb.me/shawnnawardlaw
